A laurel wraps around the words Impact Film festival Alert Labs silver sponsor. A film camera points at the words.

Alert Labs is proud to be a Silver Sponsor at the 4th annual Impact Film Festival (IFF), held at the Apollo Cinema in Kitchener. Organized by Enviro-Stewards, the festival celebrates organizations driving positive social and environmental change.

All proceeds support Safe Water Social Ventures (SWSV), an initiative that empowers communities in East Africa with sustainable access to clean water.

As part of its sponsorship, Alert Labs donated eight biosand filters—a simple, locally built technology that provides safe drinking water without electricity or chemicals. Each filter will supply 400,000 litres of clean water annually, improving health and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating the need to boil water. This contribution reflects Alert Labs’ commitment to water conservation and sustainability—a mission that has already helped customers save over 14 billion gallons of water worldwide.

“Access to clean water is fundamental to human health and dignity. While our technology helps businesses save water and prevent damage, we also believe in paying those savings forward. Working with Safe Water Social Ventures allows us to turn conservation into transformation for communities that need it most.”

Bob Wasserman, CEO of Alert Labs

The evening also featured Loguya Matthew, Executive Director of Alleviate Africa, as guest speaker during his first trip to Canada. His story, highlighted in the film Ngongakinda (Resiliency), showcased how safe water initiatives transform refugee communities in Uganda.
